The Carnegie Art Award opens at Konstakademien (The Royal Academy of Fine Art), in Stockholm. Public opening 5 September 5-8 pm , welcome speech by Olle Granath, Permanent Secretary, The Royal Academy of Fine Art, and presentation of the exhibition by Ulrika Levén, curator, Carnegie Art Award. The Carnegie Art Award celebrates its 10-years jubilee with a special public programme with artists’ talks and guided tours September 6-7.

Friday 5 September
5-8 pm Public opening. Wine Bar in collaboration with F12 and Primewine
6 pm Welcome speech by Olle Granath, Permanent Secretary, The Royal Academy of Fine Art, and presentation of the exhibition by Ulrika Levén, curator, Carnegie Art Award.


Saturday 6 September
1 pm Knut Knutson, head curator at Uppsala Auktionskammare, talks about the increased interest for contemporary art. Is it a short or long term trend?
2 pm Guided tour
3 pm Gallery talk by participating artist Kristina Jansson


Sunday 7 September
1 pm Gallery talk by participating artist Anna Tuori
2 pm Guided tour
3 pm Kerstin Hessius, CEO 3:e AP fonden, talks about a special meeting with contemporary art

Carnegie Art Award opened in Iceland on June 18 at Listasafn Kópavogs, in Kópavogur outside Reykjavik.
The exhibition has moved on from Helsinki, Oslo and Copenhagen. In Iceland the exhibition was opened by Her Excellency, the First Lady of the Republic of Iceland Dorrit Moussaieff. The exhibition will be on view from 19 June – 10 August 2008. Opening hours at Listasafn Kópavogs: Tuesday – Sunday 11 am – 5 pm. Admission free. Carnegie Art Award opened in Copenhagen on April 16 at Den Frie Udstillingsbygning.
The exhibition has moved on from Helsinki and Oslo and has now attracted over 50 000 visitors. In Copenhagen the exhibition was opened by Brian Mikkelsen, Minister of Culture, and will be on view from 17 April – 18 May 2008. Carnegie Art Award opened in Norway on January 31 at Henie Onstad Kunstsenter, Hřvikodden
The exhibition has moved on from Kiasma in Helsinki where it had over 30 000 visitors. In Norway the exhibition was opened by Odd Reinsfelt, Mayor of Bćerum kommune, and will be on view from 1 February – 30 March 2008. The Carnegie Art Award 2008 inaugurated!
On October 25th the Carnegie Art Award 2008 was opened in Helsinki at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma. The exhibition was inaugurated and the awards presented by President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen.
The exhibition will be shown from 26 October, 2007 – 6 January, 2008.
Opening hours: Tue: 10 am-5 pm, Wed-Sun: 10 am-8.30 pm. Closed on Mondays.

WINNERS OF THE CARNEGIE ART AWARD 2008!
We are happy to announce the prize winners of the Carnegie Art Award 2008. The first prize of 1 million Swedish kronor will go to Torsten Andersson from Sweden. Danish Jesper Just will receive the second prize of SEK 600.000 and John Kørner, also from Denmark will receive the third prize of SEK 400.000. The scholarship to a young artist of SEK 100.000 will go to Nathalie Djurberg from Sweden.

The award ceremony will take place at the opening at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma in Helsinki on 25 October 2007.

The artists participating in the Carnegie Art Award 2008 have now been selected!
Out of 143 nominated Nordic artists 26 artists have now been chosen. In the end of June 2007 the jury will gather for their second meeting to compile the exhibition and select the prize winners. The recipients of the awards will be announced on June 29 2007.
