Mikkel Bogh

Headmaster, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Visual Arts, Copenhagen. Mikkel Bogh was born in Copenhagen in 1963. He is an art historian and art critic. During the period 1995-2005, he was associated with the Departments of Literary Studies and of Art and Cultural Studies at the University of Copenhagen, serving as Lecturer in Modern Culture from 2000 and then as Head of Department from 2003. He was made Vice-Chancellor of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Visual Arts in 2005. The articles he has written focus on subjects within the field of the theory of art as well as on European and American art from the seventeenth century to the present. Bogh’s most recent publications include the anthology Europas andre Frygten for de fremmande i europeisk kultur and Per Bak Jensen: Det usete billede (2006).
