Gunnar J. Árnason

Lecturer at the Iceland Academy of the Arts and art critic. Gunnar J. Árnason was born in Reykjavik in 1959. He studied Philosophy and Aesthetics at the University of Iceland and at Cambridge University. Since 1990, he has taught philosophy, aesthetics and art theory at the Iceland Academy of the Arts. Árnason has been an art critic for newspapers and periodicals as well as on Iceland’s national radio service. He has published articles in art periodicals, art magazines and exhibition catalogues both in Iceland and abroad and has written comprehensively about Icelandic art.
Árnason has been an active member of the editorial board of the art magazine Siksi.
