Jury member Poul Erik Tøjner, Director, Louisiana
Museum of Modern Art, Humlebæk.
Poul Erik Tøjner was born in Århus, Denmark,
in 1959. He studied philosophy and literature at the
University of Aarhus and the University of Copenhagen
1978-1987, earning a Master's degree in Nordic philology
and a PhD with a dissertation on Søren Kierkegaard.
He worked as an art and literature critic 1984-1999,
starting in 1989 at Weekendavisen, where he served as
culture editor and editor-in-chief from 1997.

He has published numerous articles and books
about art, literature and philosophy, most recently Verdenskunst
(translated into Norwegian and Swedish), Per Kirkeby -
Maleri and Hein Heinsen - skulptur. In 1998, he was awarded
the Danish Academy of Fine Arts' N. L. Høyen medal
for research, interpretation and communication. Since
2000, he has served as director of the Louisiana Museum
of Modern Art, in Denmark.
